HANFORD NUCLEAR WASTE TREATMENT PROJECT

The Hanford Nuclear Waste Treatment Plant is an environmental facility for cleanup of radioactive groundwater contamination left over from the cold war. AFT is providing engineering design, equipment and construction management services for the facility-wide alarm, detection and voice evacuation systems. The project includes a integrated system that encompasses over twenty buildings and a special process for the encapsulating of the contaminated ground water. Project specifications required design to nuclear standards.
