The 2021 Energy Storage Systems Safety and Reliability Forum will be held April 20-21, 2021. The forum provides a platform for discussing the current state of ESS Safety & Reliability and stratagems for improving cell-to-system level safety and reliability. This forum will provide an overview of work in, and creating the future of, energy storage safety and reliability. It offers a unique mix of learning from subject matter experts and stakeholders in energy storage.

Paul Hayes, GM of American Fire Technologies, recently spoke on the fire suppression topic of “Most Challenging Applications” at the FSSA 38th Annual Forum in Kissimmee, Florida.

Paul also has upcoming speaking engagement at the Energy Storage Systems Safety & Reliability Forum March 4-5 in Richland, Washington to discuss “Lithium Ion Gas Release, Gas Detection and Explosion Hazards”.

On March 19, 2020 at 12:00 PM EST, Paul will be the presenter of a FSSA Webinar titled “Protection of Energy Storage Systems” which is open to both FSSA members and non-members. Click here for Registration Information.

PowerGen 2019 is now behind us, but PowerGen gave us a vision of the future of power; we were not disappointed. American Fire Technologies was excited to setup a booth and participate in the event. Many colleagues took time to visit our booth and meet with our representatives. In addition, AFT’s General Manager, Paul Hayes, was one of the panel members for the “Session 2C: Lithium-ion and the Future of Safe Energy Storage” along with other members: Chris Ruckman, Energy Storage Director, Burns & McDonnell: Ray Hohenstein, market applications director, Fluence: Jay Goldin, Vice President, Munich Re Green Tech Solutions: Peter Gibson, Vice President, LG Chem: Todd Kerschbaum, Chief Technical Officer, JERA Americas. There was much interest and discussion surrounding the topic of energy storage safety as the members welcomed Q&A’s. Looking forward to PowerGen 2020!
